  • Focus on teaching students the big/overall idea of lesson: Scaffolding, Tiered Activities, Strategic Instruction, Hierarchy of Learning, Examples/models of proficient performance to demonstrate concept/process, link old info to new
  • Frequent, immediate feedback/communication/assessment: check for understanding
  • Authentic, Interactive, Adaquate Practice: sequencing, breaking down task into segmentation of smaller units
  • Drill/Repetition: repeating with drill, and also with different learning styles, maximizing teaching by repeating topic in different subjects
